June 2013: . The amendment to the Children and Families Bill, which was introduced by Labour with support from the ‘Coalition of Consent pop up campaign’, was defeated by 303 votes to 219. Baroness Massey of Darwen also asked an oral question in the House of Lords, ‘To ask Her Majesty’s Government what is their assessment of the report by Ofsted Not Yet Good Enough: Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education in Schools, published on 1 May.’ During the brief debate that followed a number of peers voiced agreement with the conclusion of Ofsted’s report that more needs to be done to improve PSHE, with Baroness Massey also calling for its addition to the national curriculum.
