Body Image | Media | Growth Mindset | Healthy Living | Emotional Intelligence
In our modern world children and young people often become overwhelmed and consumed with adverts suggesting what will make them 'happy' - at a cost. They are bombarded online, on television and in magazines by how they ‘should’ be looking and living. Their self esteem takes a battering, so much so that many have no confidence nor indeed any self-awareness of who they are and what they actually like.
My Self esteem sessions break down the illusions the media creates and then rebuilds self esteem using a range of activities that both enlighten and connect.
My self-awareness sessions use ‘Packtypes’. Based on Carl Jung’s ‘Theory of Type’. Years of research have shown that being able to identify your own and other people’s ‘type’ and being able to respond appropriately is likely to have a greater impact on your future success and quality of life than any other factor; including intelligence and qualifications.
I am a fully licensed and accredited Packtypes instructor and deliver these fantastic sessions, helping children, young people and adults to understand and appreciate their own strengths whilst recognising and valuing differences in others.
Low self-esteem has been linked to violent behaviour, school dropout rates, teenage pregnancy, suicide, and low academic achievement.

There is a growing amount of evidence that body image dissatisfaction is high and on the increase and is associated with a number of damaging consequences for health and wellbeing.
The issue is seen to be one that affects all of society, regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability, body size and shape. Some groups were seen to be more vulnerable to body image concerns, including children and adolescents. [All Party Parliamentary Group on Body Image, 2012]
