PSHE education is my business. It is all about children and young people being equipped to deal with the modern world.
Supporting staff with their PSHE subject knowledge and confidence is paramount to making this happen and plays an integral part in the work I do - whether it be writing content, running CPD sessions, Speaking at educational conferences, supporting nervous teachers or working with management teams to assess and develop curriculums.
My background as a qualified UPS class and PSHE lead teacher of over a decade (QTS), with a post-graduate qualification in PSHE provision, provides the backbone to my work at PSHE education which continues to go from strength to strength since it's launch in 2013.
As a result, I understand teachers and the education system, I know what issues arise when teaching PSHE in a busy, target driven environment where many feel exhausted, overwhelmed and often uncomfortable teaching aspects of PSHE and/or keeping up to date with the latest issues and how to address them.
Every educational establishment I have worked with has been unique in both it's needs and strengths - all my sessions are bespoke making sure that I provide the exact training you require not something 'off the peg'.
These are exciting times for PSHE and RSE with "The Government’s ambition to support all young people to stay safe and prepare for life in modern Britain by making Relationships Education (Primary), Relationships and Sex Education (RSE-Secondary) and, subject to the outcome of a thorough consideration of the subject, Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE-both) statutory in all schools. The government laid an amendment to the Children and Social Work Bill on 1 March 2017 which [they] intend to come into effect from September 2019." DfE
